![]() ![]() You could even make them skylights so you can enter during the day to face mobs, some of which are now on fire when you fight them. ![]() Dig out one or more block from each column to expose the lights right before you enter the room. Another room beneath the dark room provides access to the bottom of these columns. Option 4: Torches or Glowstone or other lights of your choice in recessed mountings in the ceiling/walls, normally blocked by columns of gravel or sand. Ask someone else how to do this, I don't muck about with redstone much other than some very simple minecart-management systems. Option 3: Redstone torches with fancy switches. Just a couple to give you just enough light to see by without cutting down on the spawning TOO much. Option 2: Redstone torches without fancy switches. Darn temporary bridge across one of the canals which was supposed to carry mobs from the spawner pads to the grinder part, the bridge was not removed on activating the room and ended up blocking the canal and trapping half the spawned mobs in the rear half of the room so they never reached the pit-drop death trap. That's how I entered the darkroom part of my half-arsed spawner-grinder when I needed to repair something I screwed up on construction. Just carry torches when you enter and quickly stick a few on the floor as far away from you as you can reach as you enter the room. as for getting out, trapdoor leading to main room. ![]() all i know is button + repeater + repeater = door open for a few seconds = me go in = close door = get killed/almost killed by mobs inside since i can't see anything. Would redstone torches work? i'm no redstone engineer, so i have little idea on how to make all those redstone torches light up when the doors open. Side note2: the room is about 20 x 18 in size (miscalculated/counted, couldnt be bothered to change the dimensions). ![]() Side note: i spent a huge amount of time mining the darn obsidian for the walls, and falling into lava twice. is there any way i can get some light in there when i open the door so that i can kill stuff properly? o.o but when i open the 3 iron doors (to prevent creeper explosions when i walk past it)leading into the room, i can't see anything and often have to set to peaceful. and it's too complex to build imo :tongue.gif:īut i've run into some trouble. I'm thinking of building a killing room, whereby mobs would spawn in the total darkness and i could go in to massacre them when i get bored. ![]()
